Campaign Finance Reports (CFRs)
CFRs are filed in the City Clerk's office by all candidates (except Mayoral candidates) who run for municipal office. Mayoral candidates file directly with the MA Office of Campaign and Political Finance.
Reports are due from municipal candidates as follows:
The Pre-preliminary report is due on or before the 8th day preceding the City Preliminary from candidates whose names appear on a preliminary ballot
The Pre-election report is due on or before the 8th day preceding the City Election from all candidates (even those who lost in the Preliminary)
The Year-end report is due on or before January 20 in the year following the municipal election. A year end report must be filed every year so long as a committee is in existence, or a candidate maintains a campaign fund, has outstanding debts or is an incumbent elected official.
