School Summer Reading Lists

Fitchburg High School

New Fiction for Teens!

We're still purchasing new books, and here are some that look really good.  Place them on hold, or call the library to reserve them, and come pick them up!

What Beauty There Is by Cory Anderson.  A poor boy in Idaho must choose between helping his brother stay out of foster care, or finding the drug money that sent his dad to prison.

Rule of Wolves by Leigh Bardugo.  A new fantasy by the author of the Shadow and Bone Trilogy.  "The wolves are circling, and Ravka's time is running. out."

Illusionary by Zoraida Cordova.  This epic tale of adventure, romance and justice is the conclusion to the Hollow Crown trilogy.

Immortal Boy by Francisco Montana Ibanez.  This bi-lingual book has intertwining stories of Bagota: a family of five children struggle on their own, and a girl in an orphanage befriends an "immortal boy."

Six Angry Girls by Adrienne Kisner.  A group of seniors become politically active after meeting at the local yarn shop.  Their goal: to smash the patriarchy at school.

This Will Be Funny Someday by Katie Henry.  A 16-year old girl accidentally walks into a stand-up comedy club and discovers she's a "natural."

Excuse Me While I Ugly Cry by Joya Gaffney. When a girl's journal filled with "lists" of what she does and doesn't like goes missing, one of the lists ends up on Instagram.  Someone is blackmailing her, and she must get that book back.

The Left-Handed Booksellers of London by Garth Nix.  Set in an alternative 1983, an art student searches for her father and instead meets up with a world of magic and myth.

There are lots more titles, and we'll suggest some more soon.
