The main mission of the Health Department of the City of Fitchburg by legislative mandate is to maintain, protect and improve the health, safety and well being of the people of the City of Fitchburg through its jurisdictional authority.


Updates and Current Events:

There are currently no curbside rubbish and recycling collection delays at this time. Please contact the Health Department if your trash cart and/or recycling cart contents have not been collected. You can also report the missed collection using See Click Fix, click here.


NEW!  Effective March 1, 2015, property owners in the city will be required to obtain a permit from the Health Department to place and operate an Unattended Donation Box.  An Unattended Donation Box means any unattended container, receptacle, or similar device that is located on any property within the city used for soliciting and collecting donations of clothing or other salvageable personal property.  A copy of the regulation can be obtained by clicking the following link Unattended Donation Box Regulation.
